Cut the Fat

Hi,

It’s Dan.

Was talking to a client yesterday and something interesting came up.

We compared his old marketing funnel to the one we’re running now — landing pages, ads, emails, SEO, the whole lot.

He said, “This feels too simple. Shouldn’t we add more layers? Customers might need more info.”

(Keep in mind, our “too simple” setup beats his old one by 3x.)

So I told him this:

Information is the enemy when you’re selling.

You can’t sell without it — but most business owners give way too much. They try to save a drowning man by throwing him an entire fleet of lifeboats.

Kills the sale. People buy from whoever gives them the quickest, clearest path to what they want.

If your roof’s leaking, you don’t care about the history of roofs or your roofer’s diploma. You just want the leak gone.

That’s who wins.

So when you look at your setup, don’t add more. Cut. Then cut again.

Like Elon Musk says — if you didn’t remove enough, it’ll be obvious. You can always add back later.

Lean and mean wins.

P.S. If you’re interested in making your company and marketing setup more lean and mean, get in touch.
